born in Craigcefnparc in
1950, parents the late
Edward Ivor Evans and
late Mary Evans.

The
armiger’s father was a
coal miner (bronze,
silver and gold medals
of the Mines’ Rescue
Service). His mother was
the daughter of a coal
miner, Thomas Elim
Havard Jones, Head
Deacon of Elim Welsh
Baptist Chapel,
Craigcefnparc who is
said to be descended
from the Havard or
Harvard family.
