These
arms are a
simplification/modification
of previous arms
designed by the armiger
and his son Thomas Scott
Walker and recorded in
the International
Register of Arms,
Registration No.
0119, dated 7 August
2007. The armiger
identified the most
important elements from
the old arms and
heraldic artist Elliot
Nesterman created the
new design.
The crosses attest to
the armiger's strong
Catholic faith. The lion
represents courage in
adversity and Scottish
paternal ancestry. It is
winged in the crest to
denote the armiger’s
twenty-seven-year career
as an aerospace
engineer. The
cross-fleury-staff in
the crest is canting for
Walker (a staff is a
walking stick or pole,
i.e., an instrument used
by a “Walker”). Finally,
the red, white, and blue
colours reflect the
armiger's British
ancestry and American
heritage and
citizenship.
