The arms for Robert Owen Sullivan were registered posthumously with the American College of Heraldry and were designed to represent his three children and the pursuit of learning which he inspired.

Sullivan, Robert Owen, Attorney; Born Mandan, North Dakota 1900.  Son of James O. & Martha Louise (nee Schroeder) Sullivan.  A.B., University of Minnesota 1924. LL.B, 1925.  Married Helen Ruth Chase 1931; children Martha Louise, Robert Owen, James Cole.  Admitted to the Minnesota Bar 1925; admitted Counsellor of the U.S. Supreme Court 1931. Special Assistant Attorney General State of Minnesota 1954. Served as private, U.S. Army World War I,  Died 1989.
