The
armiger's
family origin
is Ukrainian,
for which his
father and
grandfather
take great
pride. The
tryzub is an
obvious nod to
their heritage
as is the
mantling of
Azure and Or.
Tryzub
literally
means
“trident,” a
three-toothed
thing, and not
necessarily a
forked spear.
According to
V. N. Demin’s
book Тайны
русского
народа
(Secrets of
the Russian
People) the
tryzub started
as a falcon
stooping: the
outside points
are the wings,
the middle is
the body and
tail, the base
is the head.
Although now
used in the
Ukrainian coat
of arms, this
symbol is
widely and
publicly used
to represent
the
resilience,
bravery, and
invincibility
of the
Ukrainian
people.
