The Arms of Rev.
                                                Fr. Peter Michael
                                                Preble, FSA Scot

The armorial bearings of Rev. Fr. Peter Michael Preble were designed, rendered, blazoned and certified by the Centre for Research of Orthodox Monarchism - Board for Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (Armorial Charter No.001-07) under the High Patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Aleksandar Pavlov Karageorgevich and with the Blessing of His Eminence Archepiscope of America and Canada Nicolae (Condrea) dated January 2007.

The Armiger is an ordained Priest in The Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese in the
Americas and is Pastor of St. Michael’s Romanian Orthodox Church in Southbridge, Massachusetts. The Armiger is also Member of The Order of St. Stephen the Great - awarded by The Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese for America and Canada;

He is in receipt of the following awards and qualifications:Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM), Army Achievement Medal (AAM) [2 Awards], Army Good Conduct Medal (AGCM), Armed Forces Reserve Medal (AFRM), Armed Forces Reserve Components Achievement Medal [2 Awards], National Defense Service Medal with Gold Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Medal (GWOTSM),Massachusetts Army National Guard Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Bachelor of Business Administration (BSBA) from Eastern Nazarene College (Quincy, MA), Master of Theology (MTh) from Hellenic College-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology (Brookline, MA).

The armiger serves as Harvard University Orthodox Chaplain and is an associate of International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) and the Orthodox Christian Fellowship and is a Member of Development Partners for Eastern Europe (President), St. Andrew’s Society of Massachusetts (President), Southbridge Historical Commission (Secretary), Board of Directors – Holy Trinity Nursing Home, American Academy of Religion, Spiritual Directors International, Dudley Fire Fighters Association,  Society of Antiquaries of Scotland (Fellow).

The crossed keys denote the Armiger’s patron Saint of Peter and the lion’s head is reminiscent of the arms used on the United States Navy vessels that bear the name of Preble. The design of the crest (not illustrated) shows the wings of an angel and the Scottish Thistle plant. The wings are representative of the Armiger’s Christian name of Michael (Michael the Archangel) and the Scottish Thistle is in honour of the armiger’s Scottish heritage.

The heraldic banner of Preble repeats the contents of the shield.

The Ecclesiastical arms are in the correct tradition of a Priest in the Orthodox Church, using the shield from the family arms and surrounding it with the mantle of a Priest and toped off with the kamilavkion of Prezbyter - his rank in the Clergy.

The Banner of Rev.
                                                Fr. Peter Michael
                                                Preble, FSA Scot

The original design of the arms of Preble include a helm and crest which, although not used by the armiger because he is a serving priest, is available for use by his heirs in perpetuity. The crest is blazoned thus: “Or, a Scottish Thistle proper between two wings displayed Argent “

The motto in the Romanian Language is: NU VĂ TEMEŢI which translates into English as – BE NOT AFRAID. The Armiger chose this motto from a belief that we need not be afraid if we walk with God.
