The Arms of Arthur
                                                Cardona

The arms have been designed to reflect the interests and origins of the armiger and his wife, Heidi, and incorporate elements from the existing arms of the Spanish Catalonian Town of Cardona, the maiden name of the armiger’s wife, Schmit, along with the surname Lemke, the maiden name of Heidi’s mother.

The Banner of Arthur
                                                        Cardona

The principal tinctures of the shield are red and gold reflecting those of the Town of Cardona; the golden lion is taken from the arms of Schmit but instead of holding a hammer (signifying the occupation of Smith or Blacksmith) here he is holding a sword and a battle axe with which he protects the family.

The chief is embattled reflecting the fact that the family is a “military family”, the armiger having served in the Signal Corp which is represented by the lightning flashes held by the crest lion. The two roses are reversed Tudor Roses representing England and they sit either side of an ancient crown. The red, white and blue of the combined field have the obvious reference to the flag of the United States as well as nodding towards the tinctures in the arms of Lemke and Schmit.

The crest lion is again that of Schmit but here he holds the lightning rods representing service in the Signal Corp.

The armiger, a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, is a US Army veteran of twenty-three years’ service which included two deployments to Afghanistan and two deployments to Iraq.
