The firstborn son of H.R.H. Prince-Regent Pavle Karageorgevich of Yugoslavia and H.R.H. Princess Olga; the grandson of H.R.H. Prince Arsen Karageorgevich, younger brother of H.R.H. King Peter I Karageorgevich - The Liberator of The Serbs, Croats and Slovenes; great-grandson of H.S.H. Prince Aleksandar I Karageorgevich of Serbia and great-great-grandson of the Supreme Leader and Commander of the Serbs, Grand Duke George Petrovich – Karageorge.

According to the Family Regulations of the Royal House from 1930, H.R.H. Prince Aleksandar Karageorgevich bears the Title of the Prince of Yugoslavia.

H.R.H. Prince Aleksandar Karageorgevich is the Head of the junior Princely Branch of the Royal House of Karageorgevich.

H.R.H. Prince Aleksandar Karageorgevich was born August 13th 1924 in White Lodge (United Kingdom). On his mother’s lineage, he is a descendant of the Holy Russian Imperial Dynasty of Romanov, of the Greek and Danish Kings and Princes... His five children are also descendants of the Italian Royal Dynasty of Savoy, Holy Montenegrene Royal Dynasty of Petrovich-Njegosh, Princely Dynasty of Leichtenstein.... His grandmother was H.I.H. Elena Vladimirovna, Grand Duchess of Russia, and his great-grandmother was H.I.H. Grand Duchess of Russia, Olga Konstantinovna. His maternal grandfather, H.R.H. Prince Nicholaos of Greece was the third son of Prince Wilhelm of Danmark – H.R.H. King Georgios I of Greece.

From his first marriage, with H.R.H. Princess Maria Pia of Savoy, daughter of HM King Umberto II of Italy and H.R.H. Princess Marie Jose of Belgium, has issue: H.R.H. Prince Dimitrije Karageorgevich, H.R.H. Prince Mihailo Karageorgevich, H.R.H. Prince Sergije Karageorgevich and H.R.H. Princess Jelena Karageorgevich (m Thierry Gaubert).

From his second marriage, with H.R.H. Princess Barbara, daughter of H.S.H. Prince Johannes von and zu Leichtenstein and Countess Karoline von Ledebur-Wicheln, has a son – H.R.H. Prince Dushan Karageorgevich.

H.R.H. Prince Aleksandar Karageorgevich is the godfather to H.R.H. Hereditary Prince Petar Karageorgevich.

H.R.H. Prince Aleksandar Karageorgevich studied at Eton College (United Kingdom). In exile since end of March 1941: Greece, Egypt, Kenya... In the World War Two he fought as a volunteer-pilot in the British Royal Air Force. After the war worked as a civilian pilot (6000 hours in the air). Managed several compnies, and is a chairman to an international airlines company. Lives in Belgrade and Paris.

H.R.H. Prince Aleksandar Karageorgevich is the Vicechairman of the Admistrative Committee of the Western-European Eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church, honorary pilot of the Serbian Army Air Force, Liutenant (ret.) British Royal Air Force and the High Patron of The Center for Research of Orthodox Monarchism.

H.R.H. Prince Aleksandar Karageorgevich is the Heraldic Heir of his late father, who has assumed these arms following the terrorist assassination of H.R.H. King Aleksandar I Karageorgevich of Yugoslavia (1934), and upon his assumption of the duty of the Prince-Regent, and with the consent of H.R.H. Queen Marija Karageorgevich and her son – H.R.H. King Petar II Karageorgevich.

On the 23rd October 2006, H.R.H. Prince Aleksandar Karageorgevich has accepted the proposed changes in his coat of arms (escutheon), made by Nenad M. Jovanovich, The Herald of The Princely Branch of The Serbian Royal Family Karageorgevich.
