The tinctures within the arms represent Denmark. The vessel (or rowing boat) represents the name Stavnsbo. The first part of the name, meaning “Fore” is a reference to the ancient Stavnbo`s of the Saga’s and the second part of the name “Bo” meaning Dweller/Occupant etc. Thus the name of “Stavnsbo” (Norwegian: Stavnbo & Swedish: Stambo).  According to “Skallegrim`s saga”, the Stavnsbo´s were the strongest and most seasoned warriors, who occupied the place of honour, the fore, in battle.

The Boars represent strength “Forte” as in the motto and the ancient Stavnsbo´s of “Skallegrim´s saga”. The chevron represents the armiger's maternal ancestry.

The motto: “In Forte” “In/with Strength, Honour Remains” is a reminder to remain strong in our beliefs and to receive “Elevation (Gloria) at the end (Finis)”.

The Armiger is of the Swedish Stavnsbo family and the Arms are meant to distinguish the Swedish branch from the Danish. The place name “Stavnsbo” exists in three places, the earliest known record being 1667. The earliest known recorded person bearing the name is Marie Rosalie Stavnsbo who, in 1790, lived at Gothersgade no. 12, Copenhagen. However there is no known link between the Armiger and Marie Rosalie Stavnsbo or the place names.

The Arms are also used by the Armigers son, Alexander b. 2003, daughter, Alice b. 2006, and son, Christian b. 2010.

Brother: Steen Stavnsbo 0116
