Arms: Argent, on a saltire Sable between in chief a boar’s head erased Sable armed and langued Gules, in base a mercantile crown Gules and in each flank a mullet Sable, an anchor with balance pans pendent from the anchor stock Or. [Above the shield is placed an Helm befitting the holder of the dignity of Baron with a mantling Sable doubled Argent.]

Crest: Issuing from the hull of a castellated lymphad pennons flying Gules a dexter hand holding a dagger point upwards Proper hilted and pommelled Or.

Motto:
Nil Sin Labore (Nothing Without Labour)

The Arms of Brian

In accordance with the traditions of Scottish heraldry, the arms are based on the oldest records of arms associated with the name Williamson. The personal charges on the shield, namely the anchor and balance pans and the mercantile crown, represent the armiger’s dual maritime and legal professional background and his involvement in maritime commerce.

The armiger is a Fellow of the Nautical Institute, Fellow of the Energy Institute, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, Associate Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society, Associate Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation, Honorary Member of the International Institute of Marine Surveyors, Member of the Academy of Experts, Member of the Baltic Exchange, Member of the British Maritime Law Association, Member of the Civil Mediation Council, Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association, Member of the London Court of International Arbitration, Member of the Heraldry Society of Scotland.

The armiger is a Master Mariner, a Chartered Arbitrator, an Accredited Mediator and formerly a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He is active internationally as arbitrator, mediator and expert determiner.
