Arms: Azure, on a fess engrailed, between two wolves’ heads erased in chief and an escalope shell in base all Or, three antique crowns Gules.

Crest: A dexter arm elbowed welding a sword Proper, hilted and pommelled Or.

The petition for a matriculation of armorial bearings submitted to the Lord Lyon states THAT the petitioner, born Carriden in the County of West Lothian 1945 [who married Bannockburn in the County of Stirling 1968 Irene, daughter of John Dixon and has issue by her an only son and heir apparent Royce Jonathan Lumsden, born Falkirk 1984 (who married Norwich in the County of Norfolk 2009 Rebecca Victoria, daughter of David Dennis Lomax, by whom he has issue an only son Charlie Jonathan Lumsden, born Larbert in the County of Stirling 2012)] is the second son of Robert Lumsden, Engineer, and his wife (married Bo’ness In the County of West Lothian 1922) Elizabeth Buckie, daughter of Gaius Goodwin, Colliery Engine Keeper;

THAT the Petitioner’s said father (born Carriden 1900) was the eldest son of William Lumsden, Pottery Manager, and his wife (married Bo’ness 1899) Mary, daughter of Alexander Taylor, Baker;

THAT the Petitioners said grandfather (born Bo’ness 1873) was the second son of Robert Lumsden, Engine Keeper, and his wife (married Bo’ness 1871) Mary daughter of William Adams;

THAT the Petitioner’s said great grandfather was the son of Robert Lumsden and his wife Janet Grant;

THAT certain Ensigns Armorial are recorded in the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland (Volume 32, Folio 46) of the date 26 March 1937 in the name of Robert Lumsden, elder son of the said Robert Lumsden and his wife Mary Adams with destination to the other descendants of the said Robert Lumsden who married Janet Grant;

THAT the Petitioner’s said great-uncle, who married Violet, daughter of William Merton, died 1937 without male issue; AND the Petitioner having prayed that the foresaid Ensigns Armorial might be matriculate of new in his own name with a suitable difference, the Lord Lyon King of arms by Interlocutor of date 12 November 2014 Granted Warrant to the Lyon Clerk to matriculate in the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland in name of the Petitioner the following Ensigns Armorial [There follows, in the original document, the blazon of the armorial bearings].
