The Arms of Mark
                                                Paul Lindley-Highfield

This Armorial Achievement was granted to Mark Paul Lindley-Highfield of Ballumbie Castle by initial Warrant and subsequent Letters Patent of the Lord Lyon King of Arms.

The chief (top half) of the shield represents the armiger's ownership of Ballumbie Castle in Angus. The fess chequy is an allusion to the family's former possession of the barony of Cartsburn, which anciently was held of the Prince and Great Steward of Scotland as Baron of Renfrew. The base of the shield contains a Yorkshire rose, representing the armiger's connection with the county through his paternal grandmother, Phyllis Jenkinson, originally of Swinton, Yorkshire. The colours of the Arms are symbolic of the thistle, indicative of the armiger's love of Scotland, which is also alluded to in the colours of the castle, based on those of the Saltire, the national flag.

The motto, Fortiores Coniuncti, translates as 'Together Stronger', which is a contraction of another family motto, "As long as we are together, the rest will fall into place".
