first born
daughter of Brady Brim-DeForest of Balvaird Castle, Baron
of Balvaird
(See entry No
00532).
She uses the
arms of her
father, on a
cartouche
suspended from a
maiden's bow.
The
arms follow the
name as
represented by
the acorns in
chief, which
allude to both
the ‘Forest' of
the family’s
surname and the
ancient oak that
sits in the
inner courtyard
of Balvaird
Castle, the
family seat in
the Ochil Hills
of Perthshire.
The oak
symbolises
honor, wisdom
and strength,
while the
fleur-de-lis in
base remembers
the Auld
alliance between
the Scots and
the French, as
well as the
family’s French
ancestry.
