The Arms of Jorge
                                                Maurício Pinto Correia

The chick and chain around it are a canting reference to the armiger's family name "Pinto-Correia", while the gillyflowers were chosen for the armiger's interest in agriculture and gardening, the latter a passion of the armiger’s late mother.

As for the embattled party per chevron this specific division of the field symbolises not only the armiger's constant aim to build a better world to protect his family, but also his career as a civil servant in the Regional Government of Madeira. The embattled division of the field also alludes to the rise and fall of his paternal family business interests and is therefore a reminder that good fortune is not constant and protection of one's wealth should always be tended to.

The centaur alludes to the armiger's zodiac sign and the beginning of his career as a teacher, a role that later in life he would play again in his children's life.

Last, but not least, the metal Or and the colour Azure allude to the colours of the flag of the Autonomous Region of Madeira where the armiger's was born and raised.

Jorge Mauricio Pinto-Correia was born in Funchal (Madeira, Portugal) in 1950 to Jorge Sérgio Pinto-Correia. and Elvira Freitas Rodrigues. He graduated with Honours in Economics from Instituto Superior de Economia, class of 1974/1975. He then joined the civil service of the Regional Government of Madeira, becoming Regional Director for IT and Vice-President of Madeira Tecnopolo. He married Isabel Salvado Silva Pinto-Correia and has two sons, Miguel Silva Reichinger Pinto-Correia and Martim Silva Pinto-Correia.

The armiger's eldest son, Miguel Silva Reichinger Pinto-Correia, shall inherit the arms in accordance to the following blazoning: Quarterly, I and IV  Per chevron embattled Or and Azure, in chief two gillyflowers Gules in base a chick encircled by a chain Or;  II and III Or, a double-headed lion rampant Purpure armed and langued Azure in chief a galero Sable; Inescutcheon: Per pale, Azure and Or, an oriental dragon counterchanged, armed and langued Gules, holding in its upper claws an inverted triangle Argent, charged with a rose Gules, barbed Vert. Crest: Two claws of a dragon erased and erect, the dexter Or the sinister Azure, both armed Gules, holding a crescent Argent.

Should the eldest son be married his inescutcheon may be impaled with the spouse's arms.

The armiger's youngest son, Martim Silva Pinto-Correia, shall inherit the arms in accordance to the following blazoning: Quarterly, I and IV  Per chevron embattled Or and Azure, in chief two gillyflowers Gules in base a chick encircled by a chain Or;  II and III Or, a double headed lion rampant Purpure armed and langued Azure in chief a galero Sable; Inescutcheon: Or, on a torteau between the posts of a Torii Gules a Tau Or.
