The
armiger became the Lord
of the Manor of
Swanborough (East
Sussex) via deed
conveyance in 2021. The
Manor was a monastic
grange for the Priory of
St. Pancras (Lewes
Priory) and following
the English Reformation,
other Lords of the Manor
included Thomas
Cromwell, and for nearly
400 years, members of
the Sackville family
(the most recent being
the 10th Earl De La
Warr).
Following the
conveyance, the armiger
sought a formal grant of
arms, and chose to
revise his previously
assumed design. The
tinctures of Gules
(red), Argent (white),
and Azure (blue),
represent his American
heritage. The escallops
in the chief represent
his passion for travel
and also pilgrimages he
has undertaken. The
cross represents his
Christian faith, while
also paying homage to
the history of the
Lordship - as the arms
of Lewes include a Gules
(red) quarter featuring
Argent (white)
cross-crosslets. The
acorned oak sprig
symbolizes antiquity,
strength and
independence, while also
representing the time
spent at his alma mater,
Lake Forest College.
The crest features a
collared and chained
wolf, holding a lit
torch. The wolf is one
of the armiger's
favorite beasts, and
symbolizes valor,
adaptability, and deep
connection with
instincts. The torch
represents the armiger's
birthplace, while also
symbolizing life, truth,
and intelligence.
The motto, Invictus
Maneo, translates to “I
remain unvanquished"
The armiger has been
admitted to orders
including the Order of
the Eagle of Georgia and
the Seamless Tunic of
Our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Order of St. Michael
of the Wing, and the
Military and Hospitaller
Order of St. Lazarus of
Jerusalem. He is also a
Commissioned Kentucky
Colonel of the
Commonwealth of
Kentucky.
He has also been
admitted to
organizations including
the Manorial Society of
Great Britain, Royal
Society of St. George,
General Society of the
War of 1812, Sons of
Union Veterans of the
Civil War, Sons of the
American Revolution,
Military Order of
Foreign Wars of the
United States, Order of
the Founders and
Patriots of America,
National Society of Sons
of the American
Colonists, and the
Jamestowne Society.
