The design of the arms is based upon the motto which translates as “Light in Darkness”, the three Stars of David on a very black background equate to the clarity whereby stars can be seen on the darkest of nights thereby illuminating one’s way. Similarly, the Menorah has been illuminating and shining upon Jewish people for over 5000 years no matter what.
