The
colours of the field,
red and gold, reflect
those of the flag used
in both former Normandy
regions of France, Lower
Normandy and Upper
Normandy, based on the
design of arms which had
been attributed by
medieval heralds to
William the Conqueror,
ultimately related to
the 12th-century coat of
arms of the House of
Anjou.
The eagle represents the
armiger’s passion for
aviation and the golden
ring with a blue stone
represents his passion
for jewellery; the sword
represents Anglo-Norman
history and the battle
of Hastings in 1066.
The armiger is a member
of the White Lion
Society..
