The
armiger’s ancestors
originated from China in
the South East province
of Fujian and the family
name Lin/Lim dates-back
towards the end of the
Shang dynasty and
originates from Prince
Bi Gan the son of King
Wen Ding and uncle of
Zhou the last King of
the Shang dynasty. He is
related to the 1st
Emperor Gaozu of the
Tang Dynasty (from 618
to 907) through the
maternal side of the
family and is also
related to Lin Zexu
through the paternal
side who was a senior
Qing official who was a
head of state, Visroy of
Liangguang, Governor
General and
scholar-official under
the Daoguang Emperor at
the time and was best
known for his role in
the First Opium War
1839-42. He is also a
direct male line
descendent of other Qing
officials which roles
include the Director of
the Imperial Household,
Instructor of the Grand
Secretariat & Hanlin
Institute and a County
Magistrate. The armiger
is the paternal grandson
of Lin Bing Hing who was
a influential
businessman and middle
gentry during 1920s to
late 1940s who was
highly respected in the
local community of Wing
Wu area in the City of
Wuhu State. He is the
adopted son of Sultan
Meudzul Lail Tan Kiram,
the 35th Sultan of Sulu,
Sulu Archipelago, South
Philippines and
therefore given the
traditional title of
Datu. The sultanate
itself was founded back
in 1405 and is still
very much recognised
today.

The
armiger holds a Doctor
of Philosophy degree in
Business Management as
well as receiving the
Graduateship Award in
Leadership and
Management (GCGI) and
the Licentiateship Award
in Management (LCGI) of
the City & Guilds
Institute. He has a
strong connection to the
ancient City of London
as he is a Freeman of
the City, and a former
Liveryman of the
Worshipful Company of
Basketmakers, Burgess
and Guild Brother of the
City of Glasgow and of
the Incorporation of
Wrights of Glasgow. Due
to his charitable work
in the United States, he
has received the
Honourable Kentucky
Colonel and the Honorary
Texas Navy Admiral.

He
is also a Fellow of the
Royal Asiatic Society of
Great Britain and
Ireland (FRAS), Fellow
of the Royal Society of
Arts (FRSA), Member of
the British Academy of
Management, Member of
the Royal Society of
Literature, Member of
the Heraldry Society,
