The coat of arms
includes some familiar
symbols such as the salt
shaker, since Salgado
means "salty" with the
symbolism that salt
implies, as well as the
fleur-de-lis of the
Fuentes family. The coat
of arms integrates the
symbolism of the two
families, surrounded on
its border with pattee
crosses that allude to
the stone crosses found
in the church of
Guadramiro (Salamanca);
they also symbolize
Templar values. The
family has its origina
in Mata de Alcántara
(Cáceres) and Guadramiro
(Salamanca).
The Argent eagle
symbolizes regeneration,
spiritual elevation, and
purity of intentions. It
appears across the
partition, as a symbol
of the union of the two
families.
The motto alludes to the
armiger’s personal
search for God, and to
the certainty that with
faith He can be found.
The armiger, born in
Vitoria-Gasteiz, is a
painter (artist) and a
Doctor of Fine Arts from
the University of the
Basque Country. He is a
lover of the Arts,
animals, history,
heraldry, and the
Templars.
