These
arms have been designed to
show that the
armiger is the founder of
his armigerous House and
have been assumed in
honour of his ancestral
lineage of traditional
Romani leaders.
Each element has been
deliberately arranged to
tell the story of the
family's lineage whilst
retaining a continued
respect for the majesty,
historical weight, and
solemnity of Romani
tradition.
The
golden background of the
shield has been chosen
to represent generosity,
elevation of the
mind, and the
brilliance of the
sun as represented
in renaissance
and later heraldic
manuals.
The Flaming Wheel (The
Chakra) is the central
charge upon the shield.
The Romani Chakra is a
16-spoked red wheel at
the center of the Romani
Flag that symbolizes the
nomadic journey,
traditional wagon wheels
(vardo), and Indian
heritage. Here, it is
shown burning or in
flames to represent
campfires central to
nomadic life and the
enduring survival of the
Romani people through
hardship. It
represents the ancient
origin of the Romani
race and the eternal
journey. The fire that
envelops it symbolises
purification, unyielding
resilience, and the
strength forged in the
adversities that the
House has conquered.
The two Spanish
Gamecocks Gules act as
guardians of honour for
the House. They embody
perpetual vigilance, the
courage of warriors, and
the fierceness ready to
defend the family's
blood at the dawn of any
threat. The Sable
greyhound at the base of
the shield is shown in
full, swift, run and
symbolises absolute
loyalty to the House,
nobility of soul, and
the agility to hunt,
provide, and protect the
ancestral legacy. The
animals appearing on the
achievement represent
the family's historic
dedication to breeding
and trading them. The
Flores family are
businessmen. Preserving
these trades, alongside
any other traditional
Romani occupation, is
established as a
perpetual family duty.
The Roses, scattered
around the other charges
directly allude to the
surname Flores which is
the Latin word for
flowers. They are a
tribute to the beauty of
the family's heritage
and roots and indicate a
desire for the continued
blooming of the family
lineage. They also
represent the blood that
flows through the veins
and a profound respect
for the ancestors who
gave life to the House.
They are eight in number
as a reminder that
International Romani Day
is held on the 8th of
April each year.
Appended
from the shield is the
"Patroness Medal", the
medallion of Saint
Sarah Kali who is the
spiritual
beacon of The Romani
People. Her venerated
presence guarantees
divine protection over
the house, guiding the
steps of future
generations. The medal
of Sara Kali represents
her patronage over the
Flores lineage.
Surmounting the
helm is the crest upon a
coronet of six inverted
horseshoes engraved with
the name which proclaims
the foundation and
authority of the family
lineage. It marks the
genesis of the founding of
the House and the
inescapable weight of
bearing the name. The
imposing rampant black
horse represents the
indomitable strength of
the Romani people and the
free spirit that shall
never be broken. Supported
in its hooves, it raises
the standard bearing the
traditional vardo, symbol
of the Romani wandering
kingdom and the ancestral
majesty of a home in
constant motion.
The Mantling split between
blue and green frames the
shield with the sacred
colours of the Romani
nation, representing the
eternal canopy of Romani
Royalty: the blue of the
infinite sky that shelters
and the green of the earth
upon which the family's
ancestors marched.
The Motto: "Baripen
Thagaripen Sastipen" is
the battle cry of the
House, and translates to:
"Greatness, Royalty,
Health". These are the
three unshakeable pillars
upon which the Romani
family and Empire is
built.
It is the desire and will
of the armiger, as the
founder of his armigerous
House, that
the full achievement be
seen as a symbol uniting
the House and that there
forever after be order
that is binding and
self-enforcing throughout
future generations. They
are to be borne
exclusively by the direct
blood descendants (heirs
of the body) of the
armiger who strictly
preserve the family’s
unbroken traditional
marriage customs and
continuously uphold their
cultural heritage.
The Flores family is of
Catholic tradition. It is
an unbroken rule that
every godparent at a
family baptism must be
Romani, tasked with
guiding the child in the
Catholic faith and
instructing them in our
bloodline, traditions, and
customs. Every member of
the House of Flores must
be fully educated in their
history, blood, and Romani
customs, assuming the
solemn duty to preserve
and pass this knowledge
intact to the next
generation. Any dispute or
issue within the lineage
shall be resolved
exclusively by direct
decree of the Founder of
the clan, or,
subsequently, by a Council
formed by the reigning
Patriarch (Governor of the
clan) alongside the
Council of Elders (men of
respect) within the
lineage.
Respect for ancestors is
embedded in Romani blood.
It is an absolute rule
that the First Founder who
made this lineage possible
shall never be forgotten;
his memory and legacy must
always be honoured and
kept present by all future
generations. Future heirs
inherit solely the right
to bear and display the
coat of arms (porte del
escudo), without any
authority to alter, amend,
or modify it.
Out of profound respect
for the armigers
ancestors, the surname
"Flores" must always be
retained and passed down
as the primary surname of
all descendants. This is
established as a sacred
family tradition.
The Rights of Succession
and Lineage: To preserve
the ancestral heritage of
the House, succession to
these Arms and membership
within the Flores lineage
is exclusively reserved
for those of unbroken
Romani descent through
both paternal and maternal
lines. Furthermore, to
maintain these rights, any
successor must contract
marriage in strict and
full observance of the
ancestral rites, customs,
and traditions of the
Romani people. Failure to
fulfil these requirements
of heritage and tradition
entails the automatic
forfeiture of the right to
bear these Arms.
