The
St. Catherine wheel on a
chief distinguishes the
arms from others with
the surname Seagraves;
it is used because of
the armiger’s
matriculation at St.
Catherine's College,
Oxford in 1959. The
golden crown on the lion
represents Columbia
University, founded in
1754 as King's College.
The elements in the
badge represent
Christian scholarship
and the clerical hat
above the arms has one
tassel on each side
signifying the armiger’s
status as a priest.

University, Chicago,
1953; M.A (Oxon) 1963;
