The Arms of Leon
                                                Lindley JP FSIA

The Armiger based the design of his arms on those of another armigerous Lindley family using the same tinctures of Argent and Sable. The three roman fasces represent his work career in compliance roles in the fields of occupational safety, quality and environment as well as being a Justice of the Peace. The embattled Chief represents safety & security.

The Griffin in the crest carries on the theme from the previously existing Lindley family Arms. The chained book represents the armiger’s interest in rare and antiquarian books.

The design of the Badge carries over the chained book from the armiger’s crest and includes a blue Maltese cross alluding to the Australian State of Queensland where his family and his wife’s ancestors were early pioneers. The lesser sooty owl is endemic to the area of far north Queensland where the armiger’s wife came from, so is used represent her family. The red rose alludes to the Lancaster branch of his family.

The armiger is a Fellow of the Safety Institute of Australia, a Member of the Queensland Justices Association and a committee member for the Australian Heraldry Society.

Badge: A lesser Sooty Owl wings elevated and addorsed Sable holding with the dexter claws the top of a Book bendwise Or rayonny Argent clasped Sable and charged with a Maltese Cross Azure attached to the book at its upper dexter edge a Chain extending beneath the book and the owl and terminating in a link attached to the sinister leg of the owl Argent pendant from the chain a Rose Gules seeded Or.
