The
Azure of the field is a
tincture of choice, the
Or of the fess reflects
that of the lion on the
shield and the crest.
The three roses, upon
the fess, represent
England, the Armiger’s
home. The tower is a
reference to the Tower
of Goslar. Goslar, where
the armiger was born, is
a historic town in Lower
Saxony, Germany.
The
lion is a reference to
the armiger’s surname;
Aslan, the noble golden
lion who epitomises the
goodness and justice of
Narnia in the Chronicles
of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.
The
Swords represent
strength and, although
not of the same type as
that of the sword of
Ali, are a reminder to
the armiger of the
symbol of Alevism in
Anatolia, from where the
armiger’s family
originate. Anatolia,
also known as Asia
Minor, Asian Turkey, the
Anatolian peninsula or
the Anatolian plateau,
makes up the majority of
modern-day Turkey.
On
the crest, the Cyprus
Trees represent Cyprus,
where he spent a total
of thirteen years during
his undergraduate years,
achieving a Masters in
Architecture, and
working in the Eastern
Mediterranean University
as a Research and
Teaching Assistant for
six years. Cyprus is
also the birth place of
his daughter, the eldest
of two children, whose
name is Akdeniz, which
means Mediterranean, and
in his heart, his
spiritual home. The
Church is that of
Barford St. Michael and
represents the Manor of
Barford Olaf. The lion,
Aslan, is Lord of all he
surveys.
The
motto can be translated
as Science is the
Future.
