armiger hails from the
Philippines, with a
heritage that includes
Spanish and Chinese
ancestry, and is a
citizen of the
Commonwealth of
Dominica. He is the 70th
Lord of the Manor of
Freckenham in the county
of Suffolk, England, and
the first Lord of
non-English descent. His
lordship of the manor is
recognized by the
Freckenham Parish
Council and has been
recorded on Council
records and the London
Gazette.
Professionally,
he is an international
diplomat and currently
the Representative
Councillor of the
Caribbean ASEAN Council,
the Diplomatic Affairs
Envoy of the Eastern
Caribbean-Southeast Asia
Chamber, the Chief
Convenor of the Pacific
Islands Consortium, and
Observer and Head of
Delegation to the United
Nations International
Conference on Small
Island Developing
States. He is
concurrently the Deputy
to the Consul of the
Consulate of Guyana in
the Philippines.
The voluntary roles of
the armiger include
being the Royal
Ambassador and Secretary
General of the Sultanate
of Sulu, a sui generis
monarchy in the Southern
Philippines recognized
by the government. He
has been honoured with
the senior nobility
title of "Datu Sadja" in
appreciation of his
unwavering commitment.
For his continued
altruistic support of
the disadvantaged
families of Sulu, he was
further exalted and
granted the princely
title of "Rajah of
Tambulian" as the first
traditional steward of
Tambulian Island, a
property owned by the
35th Sultan of Sulu and
his forebears. The
rights and privileges of
customary titles are
protected by a special
law in the Philippines.
He
has been admitted as a
Knight Commander in the
Order of the Knights of
Rizal, the patriotic
order of chivalry of the
Philippines and a
chartered award of the
republic. He is also a
Caballero Maestrante de
Honor of the Real
Maestranza de Caballeria
de La Habana, a Spanish
noble confraternity
under the leadership of
the 7th Marquis of
Almendares. He is also a
member of the Capítulo
Noble de Fernando VI, a
nobiliary corporation
under the 9th Duke of
San Fernando de Quiroga.
The
armiger is the Founding
Chairman of the Manila
Branch of the Royal
Society of Saint George.
He is a Fellow of the
Royal Society for the
Encouragement of Arts,
Manufactures and
Commerce; a Fellow of
the Royal Asiatic
Society of Great Britain
and Ireland; and a
Fellow of the Linnean
Society of London.
