                                              Liebmann
The figure above the helmet represents a medieval master craftsman. He also symbolically represents the family name. The red attire symbolizes love. In his right hand is a pretzel, symbolizing the baker's trade, and in his left hand, a butcher's cleaver. These symbols are repeated in the family coat of arms and they represent the profession of the male-line ancestor of the present Liebmann family.

The shield features a pretzel for the baker's trade and a butcher's cleaver for the butcher. The Luther rose in the lower part of the shield represents both the family's original home (Lutherstadt Wittenberg) and the faith of the male line.

The floral heraldic decoration, as well as the colours in the coat of arms (gold, yellow, and red), represent the city colours of Hildesheim, the place origin of the founder of the coat of arms.

The motto may be translated as Courage in difficulties, or True strength shows in hardship.
