The
oldest known ancestor of
the family Svrcek (also
written as “Schvrczek“,
“Schwrczek“,
“Schwrček“,
“Schwrtschek“,
“Ssvrczek“, “Swrtzek“
či “Czwrczek“) is
Mikulas Svrcek. He was
born ca. 1640 and died
1706 in Benov near
Prerov in Central
Moravia. Benov is the
cradle of the Svrcek
genus. Most ancestors of
Ondrej Svrcek in the
line of the name Svrcek
were mostly small
farmers and peasants.
An interesting feature
of this family branch is
finding a kinship with
Antonín Cyril Stojan,
who was an especially
important person born in
Benov since he became
archbishop of Olomouc
(1921-1923). Perhaps
most interesting in the
family of Svrcek is the
connection between the
Svrcek and Bata families
– known throughout the
world as a shoe-making
family with head Tomas
Bata (1876-1932 -
founder of the Bata
company).
The Svrcek family is
connected to the Bata
family through Anna
Hrbackova (born 1844
Zlin -1911 Prerov),
(daughter of Anna
Batova), who was married
to Jan Svrcek
(1837-1910), the one who
came to Prerov first.
The armiger is the
founder of Neogenia
Company with its focus
on developing SMART
communication tools for
government. The system
is called Mobilni
Rozhlas in Czech
Republic and Munipolis
abroad and they have
more than 400,000 users
with 800 active
governments in the Czech
Republic and Slovakia.
