The
arms tell a story that
spans four generations,
the two oak leaves on
top represent the
armiger’s grandfather
and great grandfather,
who were park rangers.
The chevron refers to
the armiger’s parents
who provided a fantastic
family home to grow up
in with a “roof over his
head”. At the bottom a
hexagon charged with a
fillet pall, resembles a
cube and refers to his
job as a game and
digital designer.
The crest shows an old
branch sprouting young
oak twigs, felled yet
more alive than ever.
This refers to the
armiger’s great
grandfather who
miraculously survived a
grave injury during the
Great War.
The armiger received his
official grant of arms,
on the 5th of November
2018, from the
Minister-President of
Flanders Geert Bourgeois
and registered said arms
with the Flemish
Heraldic Council and
they were published in
the Belgian Official
Journal on the 1st of
March 2019.
The motto ROBUR,
translates to “strength”
and also refers to “hard
timer” and “oak”. For
the armiger, it
describes the whole
story in one single
word.
