The
elements of the arms
reflect the past and
present of the
armiger’s family
history. This Old
Austrian family
originates from
different Crown lands
of the former
Austrian-Hungarian
Monarchy, but mainly
from the German parts
of Bohemia (the arms
of Bohemia show a lion
like the one in the
crest), and after the
last members of the
female line were
expelled from
Czechoslovakia after
WWII, the family now
lives mainly in
Austria (red and white
are the national
colors of Austria).
Green symbolizes the
Order of Saint
Lazarus. The brushes
are taken from the
Gruber arms and
symbolize the
armiger’s father’s
profession as an
artist and his passion
for art. The lilies
are taken from the
arms of the line of
“Sta. Maria de Lavin”
(Caballeros probaron
su hidalguia en la
Real Cancilleria de
Vlladolid).
